When you hear the word “Eh’, you immediately think surprise, contempt, amazement, excitement, fear, all wrapped in one. But you will never experience these feelings at the same time, as the word “Eh’ when uttered by Nigerians is often accompanied with an intonation to depict usage and matching mannerisms. ‘Ehn” in a sense is an idiosyncrasy of the Nigerian culture, a habitual way of living and speaking that we have grown up to accept and overlook.
It is from the wealth of meaning accorded this word that Maki Oh rightly drew its Fall 2016 Collection from, with each picture portraying the meaning of ‘Ehn’ being used.
Stick with me as I journey through this collection, showing you my favorite 10 pieces, a video I put together and an original video by the designer.
