Let’s zoom in on couture bridal looks for this week’s #WhimsicalWednesday.
It is my dream to style a couture bride. I see this bride as an audacious woman who pulls all stops to make things happen for her. We need to constantly push known limits of bridal fashion and where the everyday bride will say “Stop!”, the couture bride will ask for one more ruffle, one more asymmetrical cut, one more boxy look, all to pull that dream wedding look together. I understand that not every future bride (including myself) wants to go this extra mile but I’m absolutely looking forward to work with a bride who does. Dare to look unconventional. You might even start a trend in the process (cue Solange in her wedding jumpsuit & cape, trends that have refused to end *rolls eyes*).
Notwithstanding, my job is to equip you with looks to drool over and hopefully win you over to the couture bridal side. I found these tasteful couture numbers by Ashi Studio consisting of cascading ruffles, geometrical cuts, stiff shapes, lots of appliques and a ton of other details. The Lebanon-based designer specializes in couture as well as ready-to-wear pieces and if I was to describe the brand’s work in two words, sensual luxurywould be my best bet. See for yourself below.
Yes, I totally dig a black constructed dress for a wedding look. Maybe for the reception or after-party as everyone wants to be traditional and wear white, which is okay too.
And from the same designer’s Ready-to-Wear Caftan 2016 Collection, I found these looks that would be great for a reception or court wedding look.
A Sleeveless Bridal Vest? Totally Memkoh Approved!
The look below leaves me speechless! I picture this with a classy little fascinator hat for a court wedding. What say you?
Do you recall when bridal boleros were a thing? I really like the embellishment and fit of this one. It’ll be nice to see them make a comeback.
