It’s been quite a journey – an enjoyable one, a memorable one., but I think I have come to the end of my Style Blogging career.
You have to believe me when I say that I am as shocked as you are. I never thought I would give up style blogging in the next couple of years. The thought came in and I welcomed it. Here’s how I rationalized it: the focus cannot be on me anymore.
Not to worry, you’ll still see style posts on my blog from time to time (without me) but with lots of inspiration to fuel your personal style. I realized that there’s really no point of jumping in front of the camera in my age-long clothes or clothes that I scored a huge deal on (which are no longer available), only to make your eyes water. Once in a while though, I might dig up some some files I never composed into a post. That will be exciting, but for the most part, I’m done with my work as a style blogger.
So much learning and growing occurred throughout the process and I pray for much more growth in whatever direction I decide to head in. To you, my occasional or constant Style section reader; all who have been a beacon of support; those who repost my blog posts and/or Instagram pictures; my friends who I turned into photographers in the early days; actual photographers I’ve worked with recently; my loyal but sometimes crooked tripod; fellow bloggers who have supported me and of course, my blogger BFF, StyleOasis, who encouraged me to put a face to Memkoh, I say THANK YOU!. You’ve all been a blessing to me.
For this post, I styled a pair of pants I had worn earlier in March (to a comedy show) with a colorful top and gorgeous accessories.
Style Tip: Combining solids with patterns is always a good idea. Like I did, you can decide to keep one item boxy and another, fitted.
A fire is burning…please don’t quench it, Lord.
Top: Thrifted (Email email@example.com if interested)
Shoes: ShopMemkoh (Use MEMKOH10 for 10% off through June 7th). I’ll introduce my store properly in a separate post.
More pictures from the first time I wore these pants.
Updates to this post, due to a lot of inquiries:
From time, Memkoh has been a multi-faceted blog birthed from self-written articles, guest articles and later expanding to cover my style, #TalkTuesday and a few runway reports. Therefore, discontinuing the My Runway section that focuses on my style does not equate to discontinuing my blog. Do stick around; we are called Style & Literacy for a reason. 🙂
