Christmas Wishes – Yeka x Memkoh

Hello everyone,
Merry Christmas to you all! It’s been an awesome day so far on my bed, in my onesie but I hope you are not being a bum like I am.

In this post, you’ll see a new face, someone committed to loving others whole-fully, sharing the gift of her voice and giving back. Read on to learn about Yarn for a Cause.

My friend, Yeka who writes beautiful articles at Thingstheyshouldknow paid me a visit last week and we had a blast, in our own little way. She introduced me to some really nice Ghanaian and Nigerian TV shows – An African City and Gidi Up (search YouTube) which we watched all week in addition to some Nigerian movies. Of course, Nigerian delicacies like meatpie, puff puff, rice and stew, Edikanikong and pounded yam were not left out in the kitchen department. Oh and she finally showed me how to make an omelette, southern style. čÖé

Right before our first trip to the mall, I started getting dressed but my clothes were certainly not for a trip to the mall. She was confused. So I hit her with the blog photo shoot and she complied.

Message from Yeka: “Tell them I love them, but most importantly, God loves them more. Live life knowing you are loved”.

Yeka’s Yarn for a Cause: This Christmas, Yeka is sharing her love by knitting scarves and hats to raise money for Memunatu Magazine, a charity organization I recently volunteered for. She is still working on this project and will donate 50% of all profits to Memunatu. See more of her work on Instagram.

Fun fact: I wore this dress 2 years ago for Christmas Carol with red shoes, a Santa hat and black leggings (it was freezing). I’ll dig up the picture and share it on my Instagram čÖé
